VIDBLOX 3G-SL (RX)

Part Number: VIDBLOX-3G-SL-F: SD/HD/3G-SDI to DVI and Component Video- fiber and coax
Part Number: VIDBLOX-3G-SL-C: SD/HD/3G-SDI to DVI and Component Video – coax only

Eliminate the need for high cost HD-SDI monitors:  Take your professional broadcast SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI video signals with embedded audio and convert them to DVI, VGA, RGsB, RGBHV, or YPbPr.  Each Vidblox 3G-SL performs perfectly to the SMPTE specifications for inputs in 720p, 1080i, or 1080p resolutions. Quickly and cost effectively display your high definition video sources on inexpensive large screen displays, monitors, or projection systems. With the built-in scaler, resolutions can be set to match any SMPTE or VESA display resolution up to 1920x1200. A full array of preset resolutions are supported and when the right resolution cannot be found, Vidblox allows users to define up to three custom resolutions to be stored in memory for instant detection. With up to four input sources, Cattrax software provides a simple 4X1 switch to preset the preferred incoming source – and with the auto-backup configuration users can preset any two sources in a primary/secondary configuration. When the Vidblox 3G-SL modules are used in conjunction with our matrix switchers, each 3G-SL is an independent scaling device. For instance; when mixed monitor resolutions are used in a switch system, other devices require all input sources to be reduced to the lowest resolution for proper display on all connected monitors. With Vidblox 3G-SL, every input source to the matrix switcher can be set to the highest output resolution and then scaled to fit the lower display resolution at the Vidblox 3G-SL module.

Pick you output destination for DVI, VGA, RGsB, RGBHV or YPbPr:  In addition to DVI-D, DVI-I and VGA outputs, each 3G-SL can create other component video inputs such as RGsB, RGBS, RGBHV and YPbPr where sync levels are different than traditional VGA. The output connector is based on a standard DVI-I female connector but by adding the appropriate cable adapter, other component signals can be set in the Cattrax control software.

Built-in support for Fiber optic transmission inputs: Each Vidblox 3G-SL includes an optional SFP cage for adding two additional fiber optic HD-SDI / 3G-SDI signals supporting long haul transmission up to 10km. Industry standard LC connectors provide reliable physical connectivity and precise fiber core alignment. The 3G-SL supports both singlemode and multimode fiber cabling with the optional duplex SFP pluggable fiber module. Each port supports input data rates up to 1080p/60. Because transmission over fiber is inherently secure and immune to outside interference, fiber applications are favored in government, military, and medical environments.

With up to four input ports, users can create critical path systems for backup resources, redundant paths, or up to four identical signals routed to the same module but from different locations:  Allows for critical path redundancy with four available input ports that can be set for auto-detect, fixed source, or auto-backup mode. With Cattrax software, users can create a 4X1 switch system.

Feed multiple HD-SDI or 3G-SDI sources to a single receiver: Offering both coax and fiber outputs in the same 3G-SL module opens up a wide range of capabilities for mission critical redundancy or system backup requirements. With the optional fiber ports activated, systems can be setup for long haul receipt of video transports well over 10km away; and with the parallel coax outputs, local source devices can be supported at distances as far as 80m away. Input feeds are set for auto-detect on the first active source. When multiple input sources are selected Cattrax software control allows users to set an individual signal input or preset to a backup method with primary/secondary source inputs.

Decide which source you want to display: With a total of four input ports, the 3G-SL can be configured to select any one of up to four incoming signals- basically like a 4X1 switch. Additionally, primary and secondary sources inputs can be pre-set via the Cattrax setup program to auto-detect. For instance; in critical command and control environments, a secondary and redundant path may be set. When the primary source fails, the secondary source automatically becomes active. Once the primary source is back on line, the primary source will become active once again.

Built-in image adjustments: Route signals at their highest resolution – fit the image to the displays resolution at each Vidblox RX

Cattrax software lets you decide how to display your content with over 20 different settings and adjustments: A wide range of adjustments and calibration features are available with the Cattrax GUI software allowing output scaling, interlace to progressive conversion, test pattern setup, audio muting, analog phase adjustments, and a large array of signal measurements for fiber and coax inputs. The Vidblox 3G-SL includes EDID emulation settings with a large array of support for standard VESA resolutions and the option to include up to three customer defined resolutions.

Get perfect 1920x1200 resolutions using VB Link settings: When the Vidblox 3G-SL is combined with the Vidblox SL-3G, PESA’s Cattrax software allows users to use a custom setting called VB-Link to create a non-SMPTE transport. This allows pristine transmission of computer resolutions up to 1920x1200 without scaling to the SMPTE 1080p60 transport path. VB Link is preferred over traditional 3G-SDI video transports when small images such a mapping text, spreadsheet grids, or other fine line graphics are needed.

The 3G-SL outputs unbalanced stereo audio de-embedded from the SMPTE serial digital transport:  Each Vidblox 3G-SL includes a 3.5mm stereo audio connection for outputting analog stereo signals. The embedded digital audio signal is first converted to  a stereo audio signal pulled from the AES 1 pair.

Configure the Vidblox 3G-SL using PESA’s Cattrax Control Software:  Each 3G-SL can be controlled and configured using the local USB port or via the included Ethernet interface port.

Get perfect video performance with the only extender to let you manage each module via USB or a network connection: All Vidblox modules include a USB interface port for configuration and diagnostics while the Vidblox SL models offer a 10/100 Ethernet port for LAN/WAN control and configuration. With PESA’s Cattrax GUI control application running on a host PC, users can access a large array of setup and diagnostic screens for perfect signal distribution.

Advanced diagnostics and control management software to configure you Vidblox extenders and routing system: Cattrax is PESA's Windows® based system control software application that allows any PC on a facility network to become a full-featured controller and status monitor for all PESA processing products in the facility. From the menu the operator can monitor the alarm status and health of the device, or perform any configuration function.  One can monitor, adjust and/or change operating parameters of any module in the system in real-time.

Cut your AC power plug requirements by placing the Vidblox units in the 2RU rack mount kit. Up to four modules can be powered off one AC outlet:  PESA’s Power Distribution Rack kits offer a more streamlined and power efficient method of managing multiple modules in a rack mounted environment. These power distribution rack mount systems are optimized for PESA’s Vidblox series of extender modules. Sharing a common power supply source, up to four VidBlox can be mounted in 2RU or two modules in 1RU.

Power Efficiency - Units include an AC Adapter module for 100-240V, 47-63Hz, 1.2A power input providing 12V,7A output. Easy deployment options include connectivity methods for a single power source or a redundant power source. AC power is based on a standard IEC plug for easy adaption to any worldwide AC outlet

Flexible mounting – The power distribution rack mount system makes use of a quick and easy “no-tools” mounting system with captive thumb-screws to hold each module in place. With this design any Vidblox unit can be removed, replaced, or swapped more efficiently without the need of powering down other modules in the rack.

Viewable front LED indicators – each rack frame has openings to allow immediate monitoring of LED displays on the front panel of each installed module.
