Part Number: VIDBLOX-NE-3G-F: DVI and Component Video to 3G-SDI –fiber and coax
Part Number: VIDBLOX-NE-3G-C: DVI and Component Video to 3G-SDI – coax only

Extend your computer video across 3G-SDI transports with the world’s first multi-fiber and multi-coax extenders:  PESA’s Vidblox NE-3G coax and fiber optic extender transmits DVI or component video signals over fiber or coax cable with the performance characteristics of high definition serial digital video based on industry standard SMPTE transports 3G-SDI (1080p50/60). Other features include the ability to embed stereo audio. Input signals up to WUXGA (1920X1200) are supported.

Pick you input source for DVI, VGA, RGsB, RGBHV or YPbPr:  In addition to DVI-D, DVI-I and VGA inputs, each NE-3G can accept other component video inputs such as RGsB, RGBS, and RGBHV where sync levels are different than traditional VGA. The input connector is based on a standard DVI-I female connector but by adding the appropriate cable adapter, other component signals can be auto-detected.

Built-in support for Fiber optic transmission outputs: Each Vidblox NE-3G includes an optional SFP cage for adding one additional fiber optic 3G-SDI signals supporting long haul transmission up to 10km. An industry standard LC connector provides reliable physical connectivity and precise fiber core alignment. The NE-3G supports both singlemode and multimode fiber cabling with the optional simplex SFP pluggable fiber module. The fiber port supports output data rates in 1080p50/60. Because transmission over fiber is inherently secure and immune to outside interference, fiber applications are favored in government, military, and medical environments.

Feed multiple 3G-SDI destinations from a single transmitter: Offering both coax and fiber outputs in the same NE-3G module opens up a wide range of capabilities for mission critical redundancy or system backup requirements. With the optional fiber port activated, systems can be setup for long haul video transports well over 10km; and with the parallel coax output, local displays can be supported at distances as far as 80m away.

Simplify your life with the widest range of features lets you setup your video transport the way you want it: The Vidblox NE-3G includes custom EDID emulation, internal test patterns, and audio test tones. The VidBlox NE-3G is perfect for a wide range of applications requiring long distance transmission of high resolution video over fiber or coax cable. With the ability to output a SMPTE compliant format, the Vidblox NE-3G can be integrated into any broadcast facility 3G-SDI routing system allowing simple integration of DVI or VGA signals alongside other 3G-SDI signals. The Vidblox NE-3G module- when used in conjunction with the Vidblox 3G-NE receiver modules- can be setup as an additional transport layer to any 3G-SDI serial digital video routing system.

Vidblox lets you decide how to display the video with output settings for pixel-to-pixel, size-to-fit in 4:3 or 16:9, or full screen imaging: By using PESA’s Cattrax GUI software, users can easily adjust the picture image to the preferred output display size. By emulating active display formatting, input signals from 4:3 sources can be fitted to 16:9 displays or images filled to full screen displays when letterboxing is not acceptable.

Cattrax software lets you decide how to display your content with over 20 different settings and adjustments: A wide range of adjustments and calibration features are available with the Cattrax GUI software allowing output frequency settings, test pattern setup, audio muting, analog phase adjustments, and a large array of signal measurements for fiber and coax outputs. The Vidblox NE-3G includes custom EDID emulation with a large array of support for standard VESA resolutions and the option to include up to three customer defined resolutions.

The NE-3G accepts unbalanced stereo audio and embeds the signal into the SMPTE  3G-SDI serial digital transport:  Each Vidblox NE-3G includes a 3.5mm stereo audio connection for inputting analog stereo signals. The audio signal is first converted to AES digital and then embedded into the SMPTE serial digital transport. Audio can be de-embedded from the 3G-SDI signal as a digital audio source or de-embedded from the Vidblox 3G-NE (RX) modules as an analog audio source.

Configure the Vidblox NE-3G using PESA’s Cattrax Control Software:  Each NE-3G can be controlled and configured using the local USB port. With PESA’s Cattrax GUI control application running on a host PC, users can access a large array of setup and diagnostic screens for perfect signal distribution.

Advanced diagnostics and control management software to configure you Vidblox extenders and routing system: Cattrax is PESA's Windows® based system control software application that allows any PC to become a full-featured controller and status monitor for Vidblox.  From the menu the operator can monitor the alarm status and health of the device, or perform any configuration function.  One can monitor, adjust and/or change operating parameters of any Vidblox module in real-time.

Cut your AC power plug requirements by placing the Vidblox units in the 2RU rack mount kit. Up to four modules can be powered off one AC outlet:  PESA’s Power Distribution Rack kits offer a more streamlined and power efficient method of managing multiple modules in a rack mounted environment. These power distribution rack mount systems are optimized for PESA’s Vidblox series of extender modules. Sharing a common power supply source, up to four VidBlox can be mounted in 2RU or two modules in 1RU.

Power Efficiency - Units include an AC Adapter module for 100-240V, 47-63Hz, 1.2A power input providing 12V, 7A output. Easy deployment options include connectivity methods for a single power source or a redundant power source. AC power is based on a standard IEC plug for easy adaption to any worldwide AC outlet

Flexible mounting – The power distribution rack mount system makes use of a quick and easy “no-tools” mounting system with captive thumb-screws to hold each module in place. With this design any Vidblox unit can be removed, replaced, or swapped more efficiently without the need of powering down other modules in the rack.

Viewable front LED indicators – each rack frame has openings to allow immediate monitoring of LED displays on the front panel of each installed module.
