CHEETAH 64XE: 64x128 3G-SDI for coax or fiber optic cables (supports easyPORT, embed/de-embed and CWDM)
In command and control environments, it is not uncommon to require more outputs to support presentation displays, projectors and video walls. In routing switcher environments, this is where a rectangular matrix packages can provide exceptional value over traditional square matrix designs. PESAâ€™s 64XE was designed with this in mind. In just 6RU, this frame can be configured to support up to 64x128.Â With one matrix card installed, each frame can support up to 64x64. By adding a second matrix card, the system can grow to a full 64x128.Â The 64XE frame is perfect for applications where signals need to be linked to multi-viewer or multiple destinations simultaneously.
Starting with its small footprint, the 6RU frame can pack an enormous amount of features normally found in larger frame sizes. For instance, each frame supports internal redundant power and control, so no need to plan for extra rack space. The power efficient frame requires no more than 600 watts when fully loaded. The power supply, control card and matrix card are hot swappable and easily accessible from the front. Control and networking features are offered in a wide range of solutions, including Ethernet control, RS-232 and web-based control. Customized output configurations can be set up easily using PESA's 3500PRO or PERC2000 Control Software
Additionally, the 64XE supports both fiber and coax IO offering extreme flexibility in cable management.Â Fiber sources can be connected directly to each frame, thus eliminating the need for fiber-to-copper conversion gear.Â All cards are hot-swappable with the matrix card, power supplies, and matrix control systems easily removed from the front of the chassis.
Input and output cards are available for fiber, coax, and CWDM applications and can be mixed in groups of 16 input or output channels. Signal formats supported include DVB/ASI, SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, and serial data streams from 270Mbps up to 3Gbps. Additionally, signal formats for DVI, VGA, RGsB, RGBHV and YPbPr are handled with our external Vidblox transmitter and receiver modules. Other features include muxing and de-muxing cards supporting 16 HD-SDI channels over a single CWDM fiber cable and full integration of embedding and de-embedding of audio signals with 16 channel plug-in I/O card sets. With PESAâ€™s easyPORT SFP modules fiber-cage input cards can be adapted for NTSC/PAL to SD-SDI and fiber-cage output cards can be adapted for SD-SDI to NTSC/PAL.
All inputs feature auto-equalization and auto-rate sensing.Â The digital output cards support reclocking on all outputs and can be set for bypass if reclocking is not required. DVB-ASI is fully supported on every path. Sync reference inputs accept analog black burst in NTSC or PAL formats as well as high definition Tri-level sync.

System Flexibility to support all digital formats from 143Mbps to 3Gbps â€“ By offering a flexible crosspoint architecture, Cheetah can support signals from 143Mb/s up to 3Gb/s and can support any broadcast standard including SDI, HD-SDI, DVB-ASI, and 3G-SDI in either optical or copper formats. In addition, CheetahÂ supports fiber CWDM inputs and outputs with up to 16 HD-SDI channels over a single fiber cable. With optional MUX and DEMUX modules, the Cheetah video router can operate seamlessly with PESAâ€™s DRS distributed audio system allowing up to 128 audio channels per card to be embedded or de-embedded within the Cheetah video frame.
Frame Expansion to scale on your schedule and budget â€“ By using a modular approach to inputs and outputs, each Cheetah frame can be configured in non-square and square configurations as low as 16X16. This modular approach provides excellent in-service expansion without requiring complex and expensive frame swap-outs.
Comprehensive Control â€“ All of PESAâ€™s routing systems are controlled by the most flexible and comprehensive router control system available. Cheetah frames provide internal slots for up-to two system controller cards providing complete connectivity control to every input and output. Users can easily control the router system from any number of remote control panels or through the Cattrax network control software. Cheetah frames can be configured by many 3rd party control devices such as Crestron, AMX, or other types of automation system via serial or network connectivity.
Internal Monitoring and Diagnostics â€“ The Cheetah frame provides unmatched performance for signal management and diagnostics. Smart navigational tools allow quick preview of system performance, power supply voltages, interior temperature, and fan speed.

16 Channels of CWDM on-board fiber signals are de-muxed from a single output fiber cable that can be received from 5Km away. Modules use wavelengths from 1410nm to 1610nm. This input card supports SD/HD-SDI and Multi-rate signals from 19Mbps to 1.5Gbps. Connector type is small form factor LC.
CWDM: 16 channel MUX plug-in card
16 Channels of Coarse Wave-division Multiplexed on-board fiber signals are muxed to a single output fiber cable. SFP (small form factor pluggable) modules use wavelengths from 1410nm to 1610nm. This output card supports SD/HD-SDI and Mulit-rate signals from 19Mbs to 1.5Gbs. Connector type is small form factor LC.
Audio de-embedding plug-in card
16 Channels of SD/HD/3G-SDI video input with de-embedding option for all sixteen channels. Interconnects with the Cheetah DRS audio system for seamless de-embedding of AES/Analog/MADI audio signals. Auto equalization on all inputs and full support of all DRS audio remedies such as gain, delay, and swap.

16 Channels of SD/HD/3G-SDI outputs with embedding options for AES/Analog/MADI audio. Interconnects with Cheetah DRS Audio system and provides seamless integration and audio remedy controls such as gain, delay, and swap. Up to 128 Channels of audio per card. NTSC/PAL to SDI Conversion Modules and plug-in card â€“ up to 16 channels per card
With easySFP modules for NTSC/PAL to SD-SDI conversion, up to 16 channels of analog video can be converted to SD-SDI at 270Mbps. Incoming sources from NTSC/PAL can be transmitted as SDI sources for SMPTE 259.
