This "Smart-Frame" is engineered to allow new 600 series modules to be developed as future requirements dictated in the ever-changing digital television. The key to the versatility of Fortel 600 system is the innovative "Smart-Frame" FRM603. The frame provides 20 card slots in a 3RU frame and it isn't the typical rack mount frame or merely housing distribution amplifiers. In-frame signal distribution and routing functions allow many choices in system design. Signals may be shared between adjacent modules, and modules installed in card slots 1 and 20 can share signals with all other modules within the same frame.
